We've got an Xbox One, with my live account. Other people in my house can play my games and use multiplayer.

My bro just gave my kids an Xbox 360, I've added my account (Xbox Gold) and my kids accounts, they can play my games I've download, Black Flag / Army of two but can't access online mulitplayer.

Does anybody know why this is? Can they not use Gold like they can on the Xbox One?

Cheers :)

All I could find is this...

Xbox Live Gold memberships on Xbox One will be flexible and streamlined, according to Microsoft, allowing console owners to use their Gold account on both the Xbox One and Xbox 360 and letting multiple users share the same account.

"If you have an Xbox Gold membership today for 360 and you buy an Xbox One, your membership applies to both systems," Microsoft's Phil Harrison told Polygon. "You don't have to get another subscription."

Multiple members of a household will be able to share a single account, Harrison said, explaining, "Anybody who has usage privilege on that machine can use it."

Microsoft's Ben Kilgore said that multiple accounts will be able to ride on the same Xbox Live Gold membership, but that individual users will have access to their own friends lists and other personalizations.

"We want to make sure that you and your son both have your own account," Kilgore said, in describing the case of a father and son sharing an Xbox Live Gold membership. "We want you log in to get your stuff, and when he logs in to get his stuff. On that console, if you have Gold, he can use Gold as well."

Kilgore said that Microsoft is still working out the specifics of how players follow and befriend each other. One-way relationships may be part of Xbox Live's friends architecture, "something that's under development right now," and that Microsoft is working to determine "who your true two-way relationship friends are."

Dont think it was shared on 360. Try bring their accounts onto your home xbox one and then they may have live?

Cheers guys,

They are already on the Xbox One and can share my Gold, it all just works for them. Games and online play.

On the new 360, I've put all our accounts on there, they can use my games but no online play.

Do you think maybe the 360 was never updated and each user needs Xbox Live Gold to play online?

Yes. This was new to xbox one.

Xbox 360 requires per account gold memberships, Xbone is per console.

Ah ok, thanks for clarifying guys. Bloody stingy Microsoft :p

Oh well they can at least do single player and local co op on the 360. We got rid of ours ages ago when the PS4 / Xbone came out, but their uncle gave them his as he doesn't play games anymore. They picked up a few cheap games from CEX for like a couple of quid each, and it's actually surprisingly good.

One cool thing that MS did is that with the Gold membership for that we bought for the XOne, you get free games on 360 each month as well. Def worth having, free games are my favourite kind :p
