Suppose this will be good for those who don't already have a wireless usb keyboard, or lazy people, who only want to move there thumbs/hands a few centimeters to type a message

Got to bear in mind that not everyone has their PC to hand whilst using the 360. This caters for that lot, I think its quite a good little product. I'm just concerned about the tactile feedback from those buttons. I hope they don't feel too stiff.

I'm not sure if I will get one or not.

Half the time when I send messages over Live! I can't be bothered to plug in the headset and leave a voice message. Nor can I be bothered to use the PC via Xbox.com to send messages OR unplug my keyboard and use it on the 360.

I've looked at mini/micro USB keyboards on another site (£29.99) but I've not bothered to get one yet (then again the Xbox messaging kit is cheaper in comparison).

They look like calculator style buttons to me.

I lol'ed out loud when I saw that

. Wont be getting one of these as I have a Microsoft Wireless keyboard plugged into the 360 if I need it. I mainly use Xbox.com to send messages though

Just out of interest - has anyone tried the little keyboard on the PS3 controller? I did think about getting one but I don't like the position where it sits above the L/R buttons - the 360 does look a hell of a lot better tbh.

Yeah, MadCatz make it. It's called the PS3 Wireless Thumbpad.

Here it is on the controller.

Here's a better shot of the 360 one for comparison.

Like I say - I do think the 360 one looks a LOT better. I may end up getting the PS3 one though if there's a lot of chat in Warhawk - I have always prefered typing in game to voice chat.

Actually - I may get one and not bother clipping it onto the controller. I guess it will work just as well as a standalone mini keyboard!

I agree completely.

To be honest I don't see Sony coming up with anything better. They are limited to what they can do in comparison to the 360 text pad since they've continued to use the PS2 controller.

Which in turn used to be the PSX controller

. Man it looks dated when looking at it now.
