Xbox 360 - Multiplayer Racing Games?

Hey all,

Just been looking around for a multi-player racing game. I recently rented DiRT and it's one of the best games I have played in a long, long time (actually purchased it today) - but the multi-player or there lack of is horrible. I can't help but think they have missed a huge opportunity, in offering very little.

So I'm after a game that 'the lads' can play on the same track at the same time.

I've tried a host of games and just can't get into any of them at all. NFS:Carbon, Nascar 08, Flatout : UC, TD:Unlimited being those. I liked Burnout : Revenge but it's not really racing as such.

And I was just wondering if there's one that has slipped under the radar. Something like DiRT would be ideal (obviously not DiRT itself but something that has good damage and offers a competitive edge to it).

I don't like anything Grand Turismo-esque. Where it's all fancy, shiny cars with no damage.

Any suggestions? Cheers. :)
 
Well the obvious ones missing from that list are PGR 3 and Forza 2, however they're kind fo a mix of what you didn't want, Forza is GT esque but does have damage, PGR is arcadey and has no damage.



If your talking split screen multiplayer then the 360 sucks, very few games support it and those that do are nearly alwasy 2 player and most likely craply implimented (Carbon im looking at you)


Online is a whole other ball park, Flatout, PGR, Forza, Burnout, TDU all great online.

I actually have tried those. I enjoyed PGR: 3 but as you say, no damage and you can slam into cars and the most that happens is that their boot opens/closes.

I also tried Forza 2 after hearing so many good things about it - but I sucked badly at it. :D

I'm still annoyed that DiRT doesn't support the split screen multi-player. It's such a good game. :(

Was supposed to be out months ago, but not heard a thing since the initial release date was missed.

that was due out this summer, i think it got pushed back to avoid being swallowed in forzas wake. IGN says TBA 2008 :( Thats a great game, a little hardcore for split screen fun though.
