Hi

For a while now i have been having problems getting the NAT on my 360 to say open.

I have a Netgear WGT624 v3 wirless router (with the latest firmware) and have my 360 wired directly into it and my 360 has a static IP address.

So Far i have tried the following:

1st off i had the UPNP set to enable. NAT Satus - Strict
2nd i turned UPNP off and turned the DMZ on. NAT Status - Strict
3rd i turned off DMZ and put some port forwarding on, i setup 3 port forwards as follows, UDP: 88, UDP: 3074, TCP: 3074. NAT Status - Strict.

Now i am all out of ideas. I got the port numbers off another thread on this forum and I have read on XBox Live The Guide that dependent on the firmware on the router, this particular router sometimes gives a false report. So basically it says that its strict when its not.

Is there anything more I can do as i said above im fresh out of idea

In the DMZ the router forwards all and any traffic to that IP. So either you didn't save the changes correctly on the router, or you pointed it to the wrong IP address.

Putting it in the DMZ on that model of router doesn't work, I know because I have the same one.

Just give the 360 a static IP and forward the correct ports, make sure it's not in the DMZ and turn UPnP on.

I used to have it and almost gave up trying to get it out of strict. The only way is to put UPnP on. No need to forward any ports, don't have it in a DMZ, and it should work.

I have my Xbox connected to the computer which is connected to the internet via wireless.

Im finding it impossible to get the NAT status to open. Ive tried putting the computer its connected to in the DMZ but it doesnt work. Ive forwarded the ports yet i cant get it above moderate. I have UPNP enabled.

I have a Belkin F5D7630-4A anyone got any ideas?

Setup a network bridge between your wired and wireless adapter on the PC.

Then point the DMZ at the 360 which should have its own IP now.

i tried to bridge the connections but it wont allow me to when internet shareing on the wireless is enabled.

If i turn off share the internet on the wireless and then bridge the main computer wont connect to the router.

strange

also yes i have forwarded the ports on my router.

The 'box needs an IP address, I had the same problem, and ended up me forking out some money for the wireless adapter  If you can't get the bridge to work, you'll need to seperately plug the 360 into the network somehow to give it an IP address and then qualify for DMZ

You don't need to keep sharing on when bridging the connections. What the bridge does is allows the 360 to communicate directly with the router. Make sure DHCP is active on the router so it gives the 360 an IP address.

Also make sure the wireless adapter is connected first before creating the bridge.

Well i tried changing the settings again and still nothing. I am now baffled and all out of ideas. I have done everything everyone i have spoke to told me to or read on a forum. And still the NAT stays strict.

Think it is just being difficult and is time to give up on it and enjoy what i can online

Cheers for the help

Strangely enough I have been having very similar problems with my linksys WRT54G router. I have my 360 connected via ethernet and never had a problem till about 2 weeks ago when suddenly the NAT was showing as strict.

I tried giving the 360 a static IP, putting it in a DMZ, forwarding the Live ports etc, but nothing would work. In the end I reset back to factory defaults (had to push and hold in a small button at the back of the router for about 10 secs). And it seems to have fixed the problem straight away for me. Infact I have just left the 360 on auto with no more messing around on the router and it still works.

You have assigned your 360 a static address? You have UPnP turned on?
I have the exact same router as you and doing the above should resolve the issue.

I'm not sure if you can export/import settings from the router but I can certainly show you my settings if that would help.

I'm having same problems as most

Got my PC hooked via wireless, xbox 360 then connected to PC then having the wireless and 360 bridged.

Tried everything, best I can get is Moderate.. better than strict I suppose as I can at least still play on live :(
