XBOX 360 - New player joins!

Couple of years ago I picked up a 360 for next to nothing, I'm a PC gamer and did'nt give it much attention. (it was about £20) I played GTA IV for a few hours then the console gathered dust for months, well close to 2 years...

Fired the old girl back up recently and hooked it up properly to a decent TV (was just using an old monitor before) ordered a few games for £1.99 each... ah the late adopter bonus!

Grabbed Gears 1, Halo 3 and Max Payne 3. Now even being a PC gamer I was pretty shocked at how decent Gears looked, and after a weekend of it, I guess I'm converted, what have I missed these last 10 years? :(

Well apart from the shock of going from a mouse to a pad in FPS, it's so hard! I'm still realy enjoying it, my question is, if you could be a xbox virgin again what games would you experience first?

Have GoW 2/3 and Rage on the way, any other must buys?
I don't have Xbox Live, still worth getting for the 360?

Do many people still play online? If I get live and a head set will my ears be burned by 12 year olds?
 
Thanks guys, can pick up all 3 for less than a tenner :)

When all these are said and done, how about Destiny, Can/should I just pick up the base game and work my way up the expansions? Eventerly buying TTK?
 
The early days of Xbox were some of my favorite gaming memories. It also felt like the real next gen. Plus those were the days people were almost civil online and you would actually meet people and play with them again. Now it's all closed parties and idiots.
 
Never got on with Red Dead Redemption, didn't get the fuss.

If you can find it, Too Human was a bit of a joke title, widely panned and poorly reviewed, yet I (and quite a few others who actually played it) absolutely loved it.
 
CoD 3 and Too Human added to the rosta, going to sting if I ever get an XBONE and have to pay more than £1.99 for a game.

Picked up Xbox Live from cdkeys, good price on 7 months.
Now, I have added the xbone games for the future, and MGS for the 360, where does the 360 store the gold games?, metal gear is not showing up on my games tab and whilst I don't want to download it now, I just want to see that it's safely attached to my account.

Some great titles mentioned here. Red Dead is one of my fav games of all time.

As a bit of a mix up from shooters which seem to have been recommended a lot I would say:

Arkham Asylum (If you didnt play on PC)
Forza Motorsport 2
Forza Horizon 1/2
Halo Wars
Lost Odyssey
Amped 3
Skate 1/2

Loved playing all of these. Enjoy your 360 experience :)
 
The original Dead Rising was my absolute favourite game on 360.

I only really played Xbox 360 for the first 3 years or so of its life, so missed the later games, but for me it was much better than Halo 3, Mass Effect, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Gears of War.
