Has anyone done this?

I've got a 1916W which i think is great, especially for the price and was thinking about getting a 360.

Only my 32" Panny is a good TV, its not HD, and it was never very good at displaying my PS2 (fuzzy & blocky)

So would this panel do well, how near HD would it be and can it even be hooked up to it?

Nice one,

Steven.

Well, the Acer's native resolution is 1440x900, and the 360 outputs HD at 1280x720, so the monitor will have no problem displaying HD. All you'll need is the offical Microsoft VGA cable (around £15-20).

You need to decide whether the improvement in picture quality is worth dropping down to a considerably smaller display.

Right thanks.

Just what i needed to here.

Yeah 32" to 19"?

But, i'd be sitting about 7ft away from the 32", or 2ft away from 19".

It also means i can play games while 'she' watches Emmerdale :)

PS: I've heard that the Acer might display a little washed out (but that was also said for PC use and i'm happy) but people have had problems with Widescreen panels as the image looks stretched and theres no way to fix it.

Lots of people have bought the 360 with the Acer 19inch widescreen Including me. Bought the official VGA cable and plugged in a set of standard stereo pc speakers - you need a £3 from ******s or somewhere 3.5 mm coupler.

Set the res on the dashboard to 1366x768.as this is a widescreen res. I prevously bought this monitor before i upgraded and it was brilliant for the price and xbox 360 no complaints - i now have a 20inch belinea but this has both dvi and vga sockets and used for windows too. But the acer is a great buy as there getting cheaper now.

What's it like playing on a small screen, is it just like playing on 32" as you sit closer?

Its very good , wouldnt say the screen is small but not massive, im sure next to a 32 it would be small, very good colours- sharp shows off the360 power fine. Games like fight night round 3 show up in great detail. sitting around 2-3metres away. But some jaggies in PGR3 but been told its cause the developers didnt use antiliasing

You have to tweak the brighness and contrast on the acer but if your looking for a cheap screen for 360 under £150 the acer is defo on the list, comes with a 3 year warranty too - for pc use it was cool to native window res of 1440x900 looks great.

do a search on google for a uk forum that has a massive thread on the 19inch acer and 360 cant remember the name as im at work but not sure if im allowed to link to other forums. havent lookked at the market and dont know your budget, Sold the acer to my brother for a steal as i find a 20inch belinea widescreen for a bargain price.
