I have an Xbox 360 console and a wireless router but the 4 wired ports are being used by exisiting computers in the house.

My question is, without purchasing the additional Xbox 360 wireless adapter, is there a cheaper and better way of connecting the Xbox 360 to my router to be able to play online.

Any help is appreciated :)

Yeah, buy a switch (cheapo 4 port should do, but you get what you pay for most of the time...). Use one Ethernet cable to connect the switch to the router and move the dispossessed Ethernet cable to the switch. Now get a long enough cable for your Xbox and have a cuppa

Thanks guys that helps a lot.

Although, if I was to use wireless, is there anything that could connect this wirelessly for cheaper than the official Xbox 360 adapter

A wireless access point would do the job, but to be honest you're better doing the job properly, be it with the wireless adapter, or a wired switch.

Wireless fails for online gaming. Get a switch and some lengths of cat5. Even Sweex make some solid, if unspectaclar switches. 4/5 port models are cheap as chips plus you'll have some spare ports for networking... A media NAS perhaps? :D
