Xbox 360 Optical Adapter

Where the hell can i get one of these, I'm using HDMI but i want to connect my Xbox to my Amp via Optical.

I got a Arcade which only comes with the Composite cable.

Nope, composite is just a standerd definition connection.

well, if your tv doesn't have an SPDIF out (most do), the cheapest option is to get either a 360 HD av cable or the 360 hdmi cable as it comes with a spdif breakout.

WTF is all that bull?

All you do is cut off the cable from the box and pop off the plastic shell, it's free and takes about 15 seconds to do. You're weird.

converting to vga etc, but the pinout shows toslink out, +5v and gnd, which is all you need.

he can't do what you've posted as it's a composite SD lead, so it doesn't have the toslink connector.

I think you're weirdest.

Hmm... can't remember what cable I did it to for my 360.

If that's the case then just buy the dongle, far easier.

the composite cable is just your bog standard red, white and yellow. no optical out on it at all. I think the cable your thinkin of kreeeee is the component cable (red, green, blue, yellow, white) that has the optical connector on it

think you may be better off just buying the dongle thingy unless you can pick up a component or vga cable dirty cheap to mod

You're right, I can see the SD/HD switch on the side.

For some people who have never soldered before or don't have a spare TOSLink module then yes.

I've found the 360 Scart cable for £10 and that has the Optical port on it, so i may pickup that up, would the optical port still work fine if i cut the cable off so im just left with the plug that goes into the back of the 360 with the optical port on it?
