Xbox 360 + PC + Speakers?

The monitor is arriving tomorrow, called Asus VE247H, am I right in assuming that this will work:

HDMI: Xbox 360 to Monitor
DVI-D: PC to Monitor
D-Sub: Nothing to Monitor
PC Audio Input: PC to Monitor
Earphone jack: Speakers to Monitor

= Xbox 360 & PC Sound through Speakers?

I seem to be having a problem doing it like that is there any other way I can do it, because there is a ton of static.

I know it's not the computer because when I turn off the audio it's exactly the same, I've also tried replacing the cables still the same anyone got any ideas?

Edit: I think it may be the Right/Left to 3.5mm cable that's causing the problem, will buy a cable tomorrow to see if it is.
