Now before I get flamed, this is my first impression!

I had a go on PGR in Game and i have to say that my initial impression weren't so good. Yes it looks great! But I'm not convinced about the control pad and I hope somebody can convince me otherwise.

I'll take you back a few years where I was frustrated by the 'dead zone' on the PS2 controllers joysticks. The original Xbox was fine though. And now I noticed that the Xbox 360 pads had an even worse dead zone than the PS2!

I noticed this when playing PGR as I had to constantly correct the steering, once I got the joystick out of the dead zone is was extremely sensitive!

I really hope that it's just the settings that cause this and these can be changed.

Please convince me otherwise, I'd love to buy a 360 and PGR is the main reason!

I've noticed what you are describing when using a 360 pad on the pc and especially on NFS:Most Wanted, but cant say i've noticed it in PGR3 on the 360 or any other 360 game for that matter. I'd go as far as to say that the 360 wireless controller is the best controller i've used on a console. Perhaps you are just a bit more sensitive to these things than i am.

Can't say I've noticed it on any games (including PGR3) - sure it wasn't just a knackered pad from all the kids banging on it in the shop?

No problems here and I play a lot of PGR3 and also Geometry Wars which should show up any 'dead zone' on the controllers I would imagine

You played it on a controller that has had a hammering from a million 10 year old yobs. I am suprised you can even find a pod with a working controller anymore, the ones locally are all fubar.
The pad is fine and you'll get used to it.

I find it incredibly hard to use the controllers on the pods. I think they are aimed at either kids heights or they purposely put them at an uncomfortable angle so poeple dont play for long. They feel extra sensitive becasue you cant relax your hands on them at a normal angle - when you're sat on the couch they are fantastic. A lot better than the xbox 1 controller.

Everyone loves magical trevor 'cos the tricks that he does are ever so clever...

Anyway, gotta agree with everyone else, not noticed anything here, no deadzone at all, if anything when I first played it I thought it was too sensitive!!

I'm sure the controller has had some hammer, try it on a different pod if you can, but rest assured you won't be disappointed.

The 360 controller is the best i've used on any platform to be honest. Everything just feels natural...much more so that the PS2 pad which I always found way too small.

Yeah, the 360 pad is fine. The ones in the pods just get abused so its no wonder really.

As for PGR3, its the only reason I havent sold my 360 on tbh. The handling is sublime on the cars and when i'm not in throw car sideways, correct oversteer and look at the pretty tyre smoke mode I find the controls to be so sensitive you can make tiny adjustments to the steering.

Agree with you mate.

Whilst I prefer the 360/xbox pad to that of the PS2, the PS2 pad is better for me if i'm having a long session. Just half an hour into Kong last night and as soon as I took my hand off the pad it had seized up! Was fine whilst it was holding the pad though, just couldn't straighten it

CLAW HAND :D
:D It comes from too much PS1 and PS2 time which has deformed the bones in my hand! I'm sure over time it will deform into the shape of an xbox pad :p

To be fair I'd had a very physical day at work lifting, moving stuff etc. and I was genrally achey anyway. That just finished me off I think :o

I think its great, mind you im rubbish at it. :D

King Kongs gona take some getting used to with the Pad mind, i was all over the place trying to shoot them damn big crabs, just not the same as a mouse and kb, still practice makes perfect. :)
