xbox 360 - playing HD files

heres one for you, if I burn a HD 1080p WMV file to a standard DVD, not a HD DVD, and then place it in the xbox 360 and play it, will it ;
1. play
2. play in high def
3. not need codecs etc

OR, could I stream it from my PC, via ethernet

OR stream via USB2 from an external HD (Is USB2 fast enough?)

I realise this may sound silly but cheers anyway

Reason I ask is that my pc has audio problems (will need sorting and I wondered if there's an easier solution)

Things like the WMV-HD trailers off the Microsoft site play fine. Others, I've downloaded off the net - full 1920x1080 things which choke my 2.0GHz Core 2 Duo notebook but play flawlessly from a DVD-R stuck in the Xbox 360. You might notice the fans going full throttle though.
