Is there a way to be able to play the xbox on a tv thats in a different room to the tv it is physically connected to.

I am thinking something along the lines of TVLink maybe ?

Can it be done ?

Yeah wouldn't it be easier to move the console than going through the motions of sending audio and video to another room via whatever means?

Not as if it is massive or anything like that is it really.

Basically I have been off work today with illness and thought how cool it would be to be able to play my xbox in the bedroom without having to uproot the cables behind the tv / hifi etc etc... I just cant be bothered to move it all and move it back... lazy yes but it got me wondering if there was a solution..

Oh and it wouldnt be a problem about changing the discs because I only play Pro Evo, although having access to the media side of things like films and music would be good too and i stream these from my pc through xbox.

Well why not buy another console for the bedroom, bare bones one without hard drive, controllers etc for as cheap as possible then if you want to play in the bedroom etc all you have to do is take hard drive with you and wireless controller, job done.

As long as you can use 1 hard drive between 2 consoles that is ... which I'm pretty sure you can.

But is it worth the cost, if I wanted the ability personally that is what I would do.

I dont really want to buy another console, I really am an occasional gamer, the odd game of pro evo and being able to stream the music to my tv in the bedroom would be ideal.

TV Link it is for me I think :)

no problem there but only drawback is if you install the game on to hdd on one console it will not run off the hdd on the other console.

Ah didn't know that, not that I install to my hard drive even though I have a 120Gb one now ... worth bearing in mind though.

Just out of interest, what added benefit is there in installing to the hard drive, just faster load times?

If that fits your bill then so be it :) and if you become more than casual then you have other things to bear in mind.

Why don't you buy another set of cables for the other TV so you only have to move the console from room to room?

Ok, maybe you'd need another cable running to the room or another wireless dongle...
