Hi people!
Ive had my xbox 360 for a couple of month now and i still dont know what the points thing is when i unlock achievements on games?
What are they in aid of? anything or nothing? or is it just to show how good you are?
probably a noob question but i dont know? :)

They are just points to compare with other people.

What they represent can be debated.

Some say bank balance [as in you buy more games, you complete them, you get max points]

Some say skill [wrong and undebateable... come across anyone saying this and slap them in the face with a wet trout]

Some say the number of EA games you own [apparently they are the easiest]

Gilrs fancy you more if you have a higher Gamerscore - FACT!

Thats why Wyrdo hasnt increased his for a while then, too much girly action :p

They are purely bragging rights really i guess - i use them to guage if a game is complete or not, so i play games longer and try to do everything - its also made me play games i normally wouldnt bother with.

It does a bit more longuevity to the games. Replay value and all that. I'm working my way through games for a second time when normally I would never get round to it.

Its to give students something to do during the day and early morning :D

They make you do daft things like keep at it on Burnout: Revenge White Mountain Preview Laps when you should have gone to bed and load up COD2 for the first time and pick 'Veteran'.
