I have a 360 PSU here with a connector that doesn't fit my xbox 360. After a quick google, I found a pic that shows the correct layout that will fit my 360.

Can someone please shade some lights about the variations? Photos shows my x360 and the PSU connectors

I use the old original PSU from my Premium on my 175w arcade...

But your old PSU would supply more than enough power. A new PSU wouldn't supply enough for an older console, and so might be keyed differently as to prevent accidentally connecting it up.

Hmm, think you mistook what he meant. He wasn't saying that old PSUs don't work on new 360s.

Ahh so I did. :)

Given that my setup does work, that shouldn't mean the connectors are different?

@OP - More details please. Where has the PSU come from and how old is the 360?

Bought the PSU from the bay brand new and original M$ while the 360 is June 2006

Does it say anything on the PSU?

Your 360 is definitely an old model, so if it is one of the newer PSUs with less wattage then that might explain it.

Looks like the Newer psu to me from the connector picture you posted because it doesn't have the two buttons on the side that lock it into the console like the old version does.

They got rid of the buttons a while back, certainly my 'old' version 360 doesn't have a PSU connector with buttons on.
