I have about 450-500 euros to burn and am between xbox360 and 20" widescreen monitor. Eventually am gona get both (The philips will be use with xbox aswell).

I heard that xbox360 prices would take a while to drop (around christmas or most likely november --> ps3 release time), so it wont make a any difference if i buy it now.

19"< LCD monitors they have a constanly price drop. So as long as i wait, monitos would get cheaper.

I can get the xbox for 399eu and the philips 450-500eu.

Any recomendations?
Exuse my crappy eng.

Chances are...If you buy the xbox360 first you never end up getting the new monitor for a very long time because you be spending all your money on buying new xbox360 games..

Have you got a decent tv/screen to play the 360 on? If you've only got something crappy then i'd get the Phillips and get the 360 later on when you've got a bigger choice of games.

If you've already got a decent screen then just get an x360, then you've got time to decide if you really need a better monitor.

I'll chip in that the 360 can look pretty good on a CRT TV (especially with a RGB SCART), but is better (to the extent of more playable) on a HDTV.

well, i currently have a sony trinitron tv 29" at 100Hz. On friday am selling my laptop for about 500 pounds, meaning that i would have about 800pounds to spend  . I was looking forward buying the Philips one and then adding an external tv tuner on it, so that i could make some room in my bedroom (minus the crt TV).

Can i get HDTV + xbox360 for 800pounds??? If yes that would be fantastic... Could point me to some good HDTVs 26".

Thanks for the help...

i think the samsung HD ready 26" lcd tvs are still the best value for money at ~£600

wich almost :/ leaves you enough cash for the xbox aswell :)

Well after reading some posts on this forum and some other reviews, i have finally decided that i am going to buy the following HDTV

LG TV LCD 16/9 26" (66 cm) "HD ready" 26LX2R

Is a bit off my budget, but the xbox would have to wait for another 3 weeks or so.

The above tv, has HDMI and DVI connection for the pc. I have read that i would be able to use it as a pc monitor as well, just as a mormal monitor.

Basically is a pc monitor with a tv tuner. Is this statement true???

By the way, i have found another model

Samsung TV LCD 16/9 26" (66cm) "HD ready" LE26R51

And it has about 5% lower price that the LG one.

What would you guys get bewteen these two HDTVs?

They both have the same resolution. Both have a responce time of 8ms.
The samsung one doesnt have a DVI connection. The LG one has a contrast of 1200 : 1 and the Samsung one 3000 : 1.

So which one?
