Just got a new 32" HDTV. It says online it only supports 720p and 1080i, but when I go into the Display Settings in the dash board 1080p is there too. Does this mean 1080p is acctually working or is it defaulting back to 1080i?

Im sure 1080p is better than 1080i, so im just wondering if its even working or not...

Anyone clear this up?

What TV is it?

I'm pretty sure the 360 wont even let you choose 1080p (it will be greyed out) if it isn't available so let us know the make/model of the TV...

Dont think i can link to competitior...ermmm heres the items details...

Vistron DB32-SD 32"

1080i High Definition Ready.
Resolution 1366 x 768 pixels.
Contrast 1500:1.

But 1080p is deffoantly avalible in the Display Settings. It can also be selected.

So do you think I should use 1080p if i can get it?

hhhmm that TV def don't have 1080p, I'm questioning my own sanity now & have to check what mine says when I get home :o
BTW I'm presuming your conecting via HDMI? thats what I based my previous post on.

mine can test on 1080p but it blue screens then reverts back to 1080i

are you using av cables or hdmi - if component, then make sure you set it to hdtv mode

I am guessing that you're running through component, that's why it gives you the option. I have the option on my 720p/1080i TV to run 1080p, but selecting it just makes it revert back to whatever you were on as the TV doesn't like it.
