Is it possible to use my pc 350 headset on xbox and have the audio from the console come through headphones aswell as using it as voice from my headphones mic? Am I right in thinking I need one of these

So I connect the xbox to the Z5500 then the steelseries to the controller the headphone and mic into the controller adapter and then the steelseries cable to the z5500 headphone port like it was my tv output?
Seems confusing I know not any other option though as my dell 2707 doesnt do hdmi
