Im off into town tomorrow to buy a game or two... Just wondering whta game i should get, i want a racing game but which is best?

PGR? Forza?

I want real cars, real simulation, excitement..

What do you people reccommend?

Cheers,

James.

Forza 2 has a damage engine with upgradable parts.

PGR4 has better graphic, more "arcade" and more fun.

I have both, prefer PGR4.

Both excellent games but Mr Men is right, if you want a sim Forza is the only choice. The car painting setup has huge scope allowing you to put any design you can pull off onto the car. Pretty good damage model, though in my first two online races id had my engine wrecked before the first corner due to some insane ramming on the part of my opponents :D.

Got both, prefer Forza by far. Gotham can't decide if it's arcade or sim. It gives you kudos for drifting, but it's probably easier to drift in bloody Forza.

Gotham = arcade styling and scoring system with some simulation gameplay elements that completely bugger it up. Also, the whole career mode and menu system is complicated and annoying. Forza tells you how much you've completed etc. Much better.

I ordered PGR4 from hong kong and during the week or so it took to deliver I picked up the controller + forza 2 bundle for £30. Well worth it as I needed a new controller and basically got forza 2 for nothing.

Anyway, I've been playing forza 2 ever since and not touched PGR4 yet. I've had PGR4 about 2 weeks.

How does TDU fit in with Forza and PGR?

Hmmm yeah good game also, I would say it sits in the middle of Forza and PGR as far as handling goes, although I think you can buy a hardcore handling physics pack? which I never tried. But yeah it is another option and could probably be picked up pretty cheap now.

TDU is probably one of the best games Ive played in a while if your after free roam and races. The cruising with other people around a map that takes an hour to drive around in a McLaren F1 is a good laugh. Also, it took me a month to clock it, so its single player playtime is a fair length.

PGR4 is brilliant, its arcadey, but immense fun. Itll take you a fair while to clock the single player and its a good laugh online as long as you are with a good crowd.

Forza 2 is alright, long SP play time, but i dont find it very good fun online as its mostly a destruction derby.

Forza2 is an amazing game with one big BUT... the long races get very boring very quick. Once the championships turn into 6x30min races its just too long.

PGR4 i loved with some exceptions, Time vs Kudos races are stupid and are not really races at all just handbrake tests but the proper real racing is good.

TDU was amazing if the MMO part had actually worked it would have been great but it just doesnt. finding freinds on free ride was almost impossible and they can vanish if you do find them. It also has some infuriating game modes which are very unforgiving and sometimes it would be nice to turn off the police and traffic for a blast. But as a racer its a great game, just a failed MMO
