Xbox 360 repair info.

My Xbox 360 came back from repair today and it didn't come with a repair sheet like they usually do.

When my last one got repaired, they told me what they replaced etc.

If I look on the back of the Xbox 360, there is something called 'Service date' and this is the 12/01/2010.

The serial number is also different.

Is it possible that they gave me a referbished console? I'm not bothered, just a bit curious about it.

If the serial number is different they've sent you a refurb, I got my actual one back and that didn't have a repair sheet either.

Isn't there usually a console make date on the back of the console aswell? On this one there isn't, there is just a service date.

Yes there is usually as you get your own one back but I guess because they refurbished it they changed it to service date.

Any idea if they'd extend the warranty aswell?

I can't check because it's still in the persons details I purchased it from. Microsoft said they can't transfer ownership to me. He has to do it himself.

I recently received back an Xbox from repair.

This is now the 4th Xbox!
Every time they have sent me a new one as opposed to repairing it.
However, it's been a few years since I last had to, and this time, the 'New' console I recieved back, like you say has a different serial number to the one I sent in, but it has a 'service date' on the back of it.

Which, like others have said, probably means its a refurb, especially as it's still and older System, without HDMI.

I believe it says they extend the warranty again. Not sure whether it's just a year or the same as new.

I however, thought I was up on three years from the date I originally bought my Xbox, but they had obviously extended it each time it had been replaced, because I still had time left on the warranty.

From the xbox support website I remember it said your xbox retains its original warranty or gets 90 days after repair, which ever is longer.

Sent mine off over new year and got a refurb back (service date on sticker) together with a letter saying it would take a while to fix mine so it had been replaced. No complaints about the service, just hope this lasts longer than my last one.
