It seems that you can now buy replacement cases for the 360 in a range of colours including black and chrome.
These cases replace the whole case, they are not decals and also replace drive covers and power buttons etc.
I was wondering if anyone had one or knew if the fit was any good. Every other bit of my AV kit is black and a black 360 appeals.

May want to host that image somewhere else mate.

Ive had my 360 Apart there a right pain the backside to get open, i'd only get a replacement case if it comes with a specialist tool to unpopping the clips on the back of the case.

Think they do, or the guides I've seen involve cutting up parts of a CD 'cake' tub :D

hmmm tempted by the black one, can see it being a pain in the arse to sort though.

Looking around for install guides for XCM 360 cases suggests that the process is pretty simple and a 15 minute job, apparently the cases come with the required tools.

I've found other replacement cases for different consoles to be easy to fit.

So?

That has no relation to how easy a 360 case is to fit.

It bears more relation to the situation than for example how easy it is to milk a pig.

The case is a snap fit design and intentionally simple to assemble and disassemble much as you'd expect of a modern plastic moulding that was designed for manufacture.

The replacement cases are being made by the same group who have made other cases for other consoles so are likely to be of the same good fit, durability and quality.

Thinking of the same Black Knight case (was just looking at Decalgirl site not 5 mins ago), looks straightforward enough to fit.
Will have to wait until I have seen the final quality though before I buy one, some of the original Xbox case replacements where simply woeful brittle plastic that cracked as soon as you turned a screw a couple of MM too far when putting it back together.
Also be waiting until my warranty expires in a couple of months too, 2nd 360 already and I dont want to temp fate!

To be fair, the 360 casing is a bit of a swine. A lot harder than previous consoles, but still straightforward if you are competent enough :)
