Right my Xbox 360 just died on me and is displaying 3 red rings and refuses to even boot into the dashboard. I am 10 months into my 1 years warrenty, but the problem is I bought it from an online retailer. Do I have the right to demand that they replace it since its still under my 1 years warrenty?

I would prefer a brand new one since I don't really want a refurb from microsoft, but I have a funny feeling that this certain online retailer is going to mess me about saying its microsofts problem. If I am within my rights to demand a brand new replacement does anyone have any links that I can use to back up my arguement?

If they returned it to microsoft It would be quicker if I did it myself, thanks I will get in touch with them tommorow and see what they say.

They don't have a store and I would like to mention it, but it will only get removed :o It is probably the biggest site in europe that deals in dvd's games etc.

I can tell them exactly whats wrong the graphics chip is dead/dying since I am getting artifacts on the screen and now it even refuses to boot at all and just flashes the 3 red lights which indicates a hardware failure. Thanks for all the help, I have emailed them from xbox.com to see what they will say, I can't be bothered dealing with an indian call centre since it seems to be the popular thing these days :/

Halo2 and GoW just got significantly easier for me. ;)

Umm, bad luck mate, I know how it feels.

tough luck I tried it again this morning and it worked

still going to get them to repair/replace it though since its bound to happen again soon.

Thanks for all the help I will get on to it after the weekend, but one last question do they arrange for a courier to come fetch it or do I send it back myself? Also if I sent it back while it was 'working' would they still repair/replace it?
