Xbox 360 Returns?

Just out of interest, How many people on here have returned or know of someone who has had to return an Xbox 360 due to it being faulty?

I know 4 people, I'm just 1 person and i know 4 people who have had to RMA their 360. Do I just have unlucky friends? Or is this an actual problem with the 360 at the moment?

1 was returned due to over heating and 3 just stopped recognising 360 games.

I've personally not had any problems with my 360, but there's a hell of a lot of people on here that have had one, or (many)more returns due to hardware and other problems.

It does seem rather out of hand the number of issues that have appeared to me, but thankfully MS are generally very good about getting you a new 360 as soon as possible with little or no expense to you, bar several days of gaming missed.

A word of warning to posters in this thread, I can forsee this going downhill quickly if somebody starts trolling blatantly, it will be dealt with.

there are a lot of people on these forums who have had to RMA. some of them are on their 3rd boxes, or worse. There are a few of us who have been saying this from the start: the issues with reliability of the 360 are well out of hand.

hooooowever, aaaaaaas people will tell you 'its perfectly normal and it isnt nothing out of the ordinary'

I would like to know from MS some statistics on how many faulty 360s they have had, but at the start when they did start going bad, it sounded as though it was in the normal numbers, but people still get these problems, and even though you can argue you'll never see people posting about how perfectly fine their 360 is running, there's a hell of a lot of people with trouble.

I guess we'll have to wait and see with the PS3 and Wii to find out if it's just MS that gets such big problems, though I have a feeling the PS3 might have a few dodgy ones if they're rushing to manufacture as many as possible.

Haven't (Fingers crossed) had to return one yet.

However my mate is about to return his fourth one this week. This time Microsoft have agreed to send a new machine as well as a free game.

I like the fact Microsoft are quick to replace the boxes. But its a tad disconcerting seeing the sheer volume having to be replaced.

Is Microsoft still releasing Version 1 consoles?

I returned mine last week. It had been crashing lot an finally gave me 3 red lights after crashing 5 times in 10 minutes one morning.

EDIT: My first was a March machine, this new one is a May one. When was version 2 released?

I'm on my 2nd box , my original core which was made 29-11-05 died , although I'm not sure if it counts as I helped it along

I dont have many on my friends list still on their original and of my real friends with them 3 of 7 of us have returned at least once.

I had to excahange mine, thankfully, that just meant taking it back to GAME, and walking out with a brand new one. Took me 10mins.

I am now on my 3rd , tbh i am just waiting for this one to give up. I hold my breath every time i turn it on.

I'm on my second already. I bought the first 3 weeks ago and it died the other day

Luckily Game is just around the corner so I just took it back and swapped it.
