xbox 360 S & Kinect lock ups ?

Ive only had it a couple of weeks but ive had about 4 hard lock ups,TV screen goes black and i have to press OFF several times before the console will actually turn off

any one suffered this with a new Slim model ?

I think it's because the kinect uses the power from the slim and it isn't an external power brick = more heat on xbox ?

so id be better off connecting the kinect power supply ?

You know I can't even remember how i connected mine. I think I did connect it into some external power as well as the back of the slim? Since I had to shuffle around the back of my unit.. But anyway I can tell you, I've not had any locks whatsoever. So YES something is amiss with your setup.

I've got a Slim with Kinect just connected via the custom lead and I've not had a problem.

You only need the external power lead if you're using Kinect with an old 360.

I've not had an issue either, mine is the slim model + kinect package though.
