xbox 360 (s) problem

evening all , having a little problem with my xbox. it has done this before but hasn't happened for a while until tonight, i put a dvd in the drive and when it loads up the screen had a purple tint, exited the dvd to dashboard and the tint disappeared, reloaded the dvd and the tint came back, and it was o nthe dashboard aswell. rebooted the xbox and it was back to normal. is this a known fault? should i take it back to the shop?

Doesn't happen too mine, and yours is the first I've heard, I'd contact MS

Funky colours is usually a sign that the GPU/scaler chip is going, it might just be a bit intermittent at the moment and gradually get worse.

my xbox had purple artifacting once, wasn't a tint as such as it was visibly messing with the output image, but it was purple. anyway ended with e74 graphics failure

This happened to a friends console, in around a month it was bricked
