Xbox 360 safe in vertical position?

Just curious as to whether its safe to have the Xbox 360 standing in the vertical position? or is it going to be scratching disks?

anyone got theirs in the vertical position without any issues?

It'll be fine vertical.

The scratching discs problem comes about when people move the console when its got a disc in and it's spinning - as the disc will act as a gyroscope and tries to stay in the same position to counteract the movement so will hit the tray or laser lens.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again, the console wouldn't be designed to stand up vertical if it was bad for the console.

As said Wrathamon, the only damage occurs if you knock the console about while it's standing.

Yup just to echo the first two replies, it will be fine verticle. Thats how I have mine.

I moved my first Xbox when a game was in it. Learnt my lesson. Luckily the game still worked after a while

Mine has always been vertical. If you move the Xbox 360 sideways while a disc is running inside it, the lens WILL come into contact and scratch it badly.
