Xbox 360 Save data on memory stick?

16gb will still be fine, Just want to know 100% that I can just plug a USB stick in and use that for running save data from. If I can, then that seals the deal and I buy one. The 250gb is just too much at the moment.

I've only got a 4gb memory stick at the moment to use, Which combined with the onboard memory is plenty for me. However, I was thinking of buying an external hard drive and using that and then just saving the USB stick.

One problem, I now know that when you put it in the Xbox, It formats it then fills it up with its own data, So on my 4gb stick there was 4gb of data on it. What would happen with a 250gb external hard drive? Would it just fill it up with 16gb worth then I could use the rest for my pc? If so, that would be preferable over buying a 16gb usb stick.

Hopefully that makes sense

what happens with that is that it would require to wipe the whole drive (so backup the whole 250GB) and then it makes a drive with 16GB or so on it within the 250GB physical space. afterwards you can then go make a FAT32/NTFS system with the rest afterwards.
Perfect, Cheers.

Been looking around also at just whacking a 2.5" drive in the Xbox. Everywhere says its a special ms drive, But I've looked in and its just bog standard sata connectors. Will get a 2.5" drive, If it doesn't work, Can always use it as an external for both Xbox and PC.

I've already got the 4gb now ;) The 250gb wasn't worth the extra £65.

4gb is plenty. If I do run out, An external hard drive will be bought for a lot cheaper than what MS would charge for it.

£65? you got your arcade 4GB for £120 roughly? nice price and in that case i cant blame you for doing that.

reason i prefer the bigger space is for game installs mostly.
£130, Still a bargain I'd say.

Previously had a 60gb model and used the space for installing them, But on that one it was a must. This model its pretty damn quiet.
