*** Xbox 360 SFIV - Second Official Tournament ***

Exploits as in cheats and hacks?

I wouldve thought the PC version would be more easier to patch than the console counterparts? Also the PC version will (hopefully) be up to date as a result of the delay in coming to market.

You know, its probably the first beatemup on the PC for quite sometime. Previous beatemup games on the PC havent lived up to the expectations of the console versions. But never say never :)
The PC is far harder to patch due to various hardware differences and supporting software (OS, memory management etc).

Also, Capcom don't tend to patch their PC ports.

So you're saying that a patch for the PS3/Xbox SF4 variants cannot be easily "ported" (for a want of a better word) to the PC?

I dont know tbh. I got a funny feeling that the PC version will be just as good as the console counterparts. But lets wait and see :)

I dont tend to follow Capcom games on PC. What other games released by Capcom for the PC recently?

Due date is May time so not long to go! (Plus we get to play it at true 1920x1080 goodness :D)

My point about running properly was about the game itself, it was more down to what the hardware requirements. Although the game shouldn't be hard to port from the arcade as the arcade machines are PCs.

On another note, I don't think its going to be released in May, Capcom don't seem to have a set date according to IGN

No, I'm saying the PC version will have more potential issues. I'm not talking about game mechanics or balance here but exploits.

The released RE4 and Lost planet have had poor support.

I'll be getting the game on pc.

The only problems i can see with a pc version would be noobs using macros to pull off super n ultra combos!

Oh and Void, well done mate :) do you often get lag in your matches btw? cos i must say i noticed it when we played our round but i didnt think it was too bad to mention :)

Cheers spud :) Regarding the lag I have been getting rather a lot recently, even on 4 bar matches. SFIV was fine to begin with but if it keeps happening I'll have to have a word with my isp.

I think friday was a bad day lag wise as the majority of games I played had a lot of lag. Saturday was better but still not back to normal.

PC Version will be chopped to bits in no time I guess.
Macros will be the first thing people setup, one button ultras lol.

I might have a look at it purely to see the exploits that are found, wonder if theres going to be an active community on PC.

Any thoughts on making the next tourney a double elimination tournament. It will mean more matches but since this may make things longer you can add deadlines for rounds to stop it stagnating.

I'm sure anyone who goes to iseries might be familair with this. The final can either be best of 3 normal or to give an advantage to the team who has never lost (wins upper bracket), they have to win one match whereas lower bracket winner has to win 2. (or wb2 lb3 if best of 5 final).

It gives the players who arn't quite as good a second chance and also gives those who may have done better had it not been for lag or something another shot at the title.

oops,

looks like a nightmare to manage though.

I still feel the real reason why the tournament stagnated is because people to get commit to getting games played.

That's where the "known quantities" come in. People we know will be prompt and play regularly (or can be vouched for by those we know) are invited to the tournament.
