XBOX 360 Slim Crashing

Hey guys,

Recently my XBOX 360 Slim has been crashing on Battlefield 3 and having to cold reboot.

When placing my hand on the console vent it is piping hot, could this be a heat issue or is my 360 on its way out?

I have ordered a new Intercooler STS fan to help extract and keep cool, but I'm still a bit worried.

Those extra fans/coolers never work, the 360S runs fairly hot anyway.

Have you tried re-installing the game, deleting cache data, resetting the console to factory settings etc?
 
Ever since the new dash update my console has randomly crashed in certain games, not all the time, but at least once or twice, but only in arcade games, on a 360 elite
 
1. How old is it?
2. Do you have your reciept
3. Please tell me you didn't get it from Game lol
4. Do all the reinstallation, cache clearing etc but if that doesnt sort it get it replaced or repaird

I think it is out of warranty I'm not sure, but how do I clean the dust out from it? And will try clearing the cache also.

Just checked my receipt from ASDA, it was purchased on 19/07/10 does that mean I'm covered, as is it not a 3 year warranty from Microsoft?

No it's one year.

Can of air will help with the dust, can pick them up from Staples etc. The extra fan add-on isn't going to achieve anything except make the console more noisy.
 
i had the same problem with mine, i fixed it by raising the xbox so air could get under it, you also have to raise the power supply too, doing this will reduce the temps.
