Ive moved my 360 into my pc room as i could never play on it in the living room what with the missus watching soaps all the time  :D , so i thought i'd plug it into my pc monitor and play it here , now the problem is ive just found is that my monitor (Samsung Pebble SM2232BW 22") has no speakers and no head phone jacks

now with the xbox being next to my pc which has speakers is there anyway to use them ?

Get a Phono - 3.5mm jack converter (if you haven't already) and plug the sound connector into your PC's soundcard line-in socket. That's what I do for my upstairs 360.

ok ive got one of those jack convertors that came with the VGA cable i boght for the xbox, ive plugged it in to the line in and turned the xbox on, switched source on the monitor and the xbox picture shows fine but theres no sound when i play music for a test

not sure what ive done wrong :(

Plug it into the line-in socket, report back

sry that was a typo , i have plugged it into the line in , dunno why i said line out lol

so ive used the 2 into 1 jack converter

plugged the red and white jacks into it and plugged that into the line IN ,fired the xbox up and put a music cd in, but im not getting any sound :(

I needed different drivers when I did it, but I'm using an onboard card. Think I was trying to use the MS drivers, and needed the proper manufacturers ones.

Check that the line in hasn't been muted in the volume control panel on the pc.

Don't your speakers have any input apart from the cable to the pc?

Im using onboard sound too and ive checked nothing is muted,im also using the proper realtek drivers

not sure what u mean monkeyman regading the input on my speakers, its a 5.1 logitech setup,i plug the speakers and the sub woofer in and some orange jack but i aint sure what thats for lol

well i played with a few windows settings and it suddenly sprang to life :)

so far so good although ive noticed the sound quality is quite distorted compared to normal use through my pc but i'll work on it im sure i'll fix that

thanks for the help chaps :)
