I have an xBox 360, standard one with no built in hard drive, just your basic 120something MB so I have attached my external HDD to it but an update for HD graphics needs to be installed on an internal HDD for the xbox, how can I make the xbox think it is internal??

Is it 120MB or 120GB?

Not sure what you're talking about HD graphics or whatnot, but the external HDD needs a partition of 32GB on FAT32 I *thinK* to enable the 360 to see it as a storage device. It'll never read it as a standard Xbox HDD, just an external storage device.

my Xbox has an internal storage of 120 MB so I have connected by external HDD but when playing Battlefield 3 it says there is a HD update but when I try and install it it says the external storage needs to be an internal HDD :(

From a quick google, looks like you need to by an internal HDD for the 360. Is yours an older white one I take it?

IIRC that's a addon for BF3 for better textures, it needs a proper xbox hdd.

Get a second hand 120gb one from Gamestation or something before they fold :)
