Hi folks,

I'm having some problems here using the streaming media functionality in the Xbox 360 to view files across my home network from my desktop PC to the Xbox through my Plasma in living room.

My set up is as follows...

Laptop - Desktop - 360 ethernet wired into Router, I watch movies regulary on the 360 streaming the media usually from the desktop to the 360 however today it won't ...... odd.

It is saying Status Code 53-C00DF238, having googled this it seems to be something to do with not being able to connect to the file location.

The odd thing is the 360 sees all the directories that contain my files, I can select them but the screen then goes dark and after about 10 secs I get the above error.

I have tried streaming from the laptop and this works without a problem.

I removed the 360 from my shared devices in the media sharing options in WMP11 and it auto detected it again when I rebooted the 360 but still no joy.

This is a vital function of my 360 and I really need to get this up and running again. If anyone can suggest anything I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!

Matt

Okay, I can be almost certain when I say it's Media Player 11 on your PC that is causing the problem, as I had exactly the same issue myself a while back.

Unfortunately what I can't say is how to fix it. I tried TVersity just as a test, and it worked fine, so you could possibly move to that as a streaming service. I upgraded my PC very shortly after having the problem, moving to Vista, and have not had a problem since.
