Howzit guys,

I have been streaming movies from my laptop to my Xbox 360 without a problem over a wireless network.

However of late, I have come across a few movies the will not play correctly. The system will load the movie and I get the progress bar. It gets to 100% and plays the movie okay.

For about 10 minutes. Then the movie stops and loads again, taking 2 minutes and plays another 15 minute of the movie.

This continues all the way throughout the movie!

I have tried using just the cable and get the same result. Most of the other movies load quick and only load once and play okay. So i assume it must be the way the movies I am trying to play have been encoded.

Is there anyway to combat this problem? Different media player, maybe?

I am using Tversity at the moment.

Thanks guys!

Don't have to use TVersity. Tried streaming them via WMP? On Dashboard go to Video Gallery I think lol. Then you can enable the option to connect to your PC. With a correct codec pack mine can play .avi's flawlessly. There's vids on youtube of how to do it. I'll get one up in a sec.

Here yar.

As said above just use WMP, the laptop might not be well equipped enough to convert on the fly and tversity seems to like converting everything that goes through it even if the 360 would play it as is

WMP 11/12. 12 is better (W7 only) as it requires no codec packs for .mp4 or .avi. However just grab a decent Codec Pack. FFDShow my fav atm and stream away! :D

Sounds like the laptop is having a time transcoding. If you have Windows 7, install the latest Divx7 and enjoy streaming *almost* everything including certain MKV files (need to install AC3 Flter simultaneously with the DivX installer for some files to work) and it will also allow you to play the same stuff in WMP on your laptop too.

It's just a tech release at the moment but it's working very well for me:

How do you actually stream stuff on WMP12? I remember there being an option on 11 (although it wouldn't work for me) but I can't see anything in options on 12.

Can't remember how to do it since I don't have RC installed anymore but I used the same video as the one I posted and figured out how to it. It's Media-Sharing crap but then there is all this homegroup nonsense!

Also DIVX7 made my WMC (in Vista, I'm pretty sure it worked on W7) consistently crash so I ditched it.
