Xbox 360 - The "yeah now i'm happy" thread

Well following on from my "Xbox 360 - Already hanging" thread, I thought it'd be a good idea to post a thread from the other side :D
Sure the first Xbox360 had a problem, but I can only guess that I was one of the 5-10% of people that had a duff console.

So here's a nice friendly list of everthing I like about my new toy:
  • Wireless controller - superb feel, fantastic button placement. Doubt this format could ever be improved in its current form!
  • COD2 & Condemned - fantastic so far. Smooth frame-rates and top-of-the-range PC style graphics.
  • Looks superb even over RGB on a standard CRT. Will have to wait 3 weeks for my Hi-Def LCD to be delivered, toooo long :(
  • Dolby Digital sounds awesome, almost soiled my undercrackers playing the first level of Condemned in the dark last night :eek:
  • Xbox Live & Dashboard - really impressed, nicely integrated. So easy to download videos / game demos.

Downsides? Well it is slightly noisey, but once the volume is up to a reasonable level on the TV then you don't notice it, especially with DD5.1 on the go :D

So so far I'm very glad I bought it, I was a bit worried the initial games would be buggy and distinctly average. But so far I've got two cracking games, and i'm looking forward to buying Kameo and PGR3 in the next week or so, then much more in the upcoming months!!

I like my 360 as well and although it has not been turned on for weeks and my live sub has expired it is very nice. One day I'll get to play it again.
 
Love me 360 too and am so glad I bought one, and I'm a console hater. I am quite annoyed seeing titles slip further and further of late though. March seems so far away right now when most good games arrive.

Kameo is a top game, currently replaying it. PGR3 isn't that bad, Live is where it's at for that game though.

Yeah, what's happened to you mate? Checked your name on my list thing and it's been ages since you were last on.

back on topic: very very pleased with the xbox. Have 5 games and i'm torn between which to play every time i turn it on. So glad i returned mine to MS..haven't had a single problem since. On the HD Samsung it looks awesome too...colours are so vibrant (especially in Kameo) and coupled with 5.1 has positively turned me off from PC gaming.

Had the speakers up almost full whack last night playing PGR.... :eek: :D

Yeah im happy with my 360, i aint really gamed on my PC for a good few years now, but ive been getting well into PGR3 at the minute, play about 1-2 hrs a day, ain't played that long on the PC for about 3 years lol. :D

Once ive got that out of the way im either gona do King King, as ive already played a bit of that, or im gona start Condemned. :)
 
Yup definitely happy with my xbox360, never imagined console gaming could be so much fun tbh. Definitely one of my better purchases of recent years.

Although ill admit that lately i havent played on it as much as i used to, its still gives me stress relief when i need it:).

PGR 3 awesome must have game on your 360.

Im well pleased pleased i got my return unit from Microsoft and been playing PGR 3 mostly absolutely awesome console.

Ahh well most of my play time was after about 11pm over Xmas. I can't do that now as I have to be up at 6 for work.
To top it off the wife is pregnant and doesn't like being disturbed :(
 
Despite having problems with my xbox and 2 vga leads and paying over the odds to get one, its still better than the original XBox launch game wise, to my taste anyway :)

COD2 and condemned are very good and King kong wasnt to bad either. Also the Fight night demo is great(and i dont normally play boxing games).

Upcoming games like GOW, Ghost recon and Oblivion appeal too :)
 
Yeah, I'm happy. Although I don't want to think what I've spent so far...

COD2, Kameo, Condemned, PGR3, Kong, PD0, DOA4; though I sell games I've finished with and bought a few 2nd hand / cheap.

And I look at March and get worried.
 
Really enjoying my 360!

Mabnaged to get a VGA lead yesterday for £14 and Kameo looks stunning! As does NFS:MW. Running it at the 1360 x768 Resolution or whatever it is on my 17" LCD from my pc.

I can't justify spending £600-1000 on a High definition Tv when I can get virtually the same quality on my pc monitor. (That and I don't have a spare £600-1000 hanging around lol)
 
My 360 is the first console I've had since the PS one! Extremely pleased with it, loving Condemned and PGR3 though King Kong is a bit pap!
Can't wait for Oblivion & Ghost Recon...
