I was thinking of buying a gaming laptop for when I am away as I miss playing my xbox.

But I do like my macbook - had it for 2 years and hasnt done anything wrong at all.

I know there are some capture card things where you use the monitor for the xbox - but which would be the best one for my 13" screen? (1280x800 res)

I would want the best picture possible - so wouldnt mind paying a premium for it.

Any help would be massively appreciated! :D

P.S Due to lack of space, I cannot simply buy a TV - either xbox 360 and laptop as screen, or gaming laptop.

Can someone shed any light on this please? I also have windows 7 via bootcamp if that helps, so anything available for windows or mac would be brilliant :)

The ideal solution would be a HDMI to USB convertor, but thanks for the HDCP anti consumerist bull**** i am not sure such a device exists.

Its a right shame because i believe there is a significant market, particularly amongst students, who have laptops but not the space for desktop monitors or TVs

The problem is most laptops don't have an input for the screen. It can probably be done but will be more expensive than buying a monitor that is likely also bigger.

Yep no can do on a macbook due to lack of video in, anything via usb will have lag of sorts.

Are you really that short on space that you cannot fit in a small 14-15" screen (even wall mounting if lack of desk space)? I would imagine a small screen would work out cheaper then any sort of adaptor anyway.

I really dont - It is for when I am at sea next year and space on the ship is at an all time minimum, I might even struggle to get the xbox on!
I thought instead of buying a gaming laptop , I can just do this. A much cheaper solution

Could sell your current MacBook and upgrade to the newer ones that have 320M graphic cards, quite powerful little things.

Well that would be good - but obviously going to be a hell of a lot of money. Wouldnt mind the extended battery life aswell....
