Xbox 360 too noisy!

I`ve had my 360 for a couple of weeks now and love it to bits...shoulod have got one sooner!! Only thing is the winny fan and dvd drive are really begining to do my head in! Is there anybody who has replaced the fan or dvd drive in one before? Is this do-able? Thanks for any advice

DVD can be made quieter, but how to do so cannot be talked about on these forums. Results of doing it are extremely good though, and make a huge difference.

Fans can be replaced easily with quieter 3rd party ones (Talismoon).

Any mods will invalidate your warranty

Involves changing of the drive firmware and all that it entails, not allowed here

You're best off Googling for xbox related sites that deal with this sort of 'scene'.

Im pretty sure modified Dvd firmware leads to an Xbox live ban so unless you dont play on live I would steer clear of that modification.

Not necessarily.

Don't think there is any other way of quietening a drive though, so unless you are prepared to take a risk then I don't see any alternative (other than turn your TV volume up

)
