Xbox 360 updates from the U.S of A

Has anyone d/loaded updates from the U.S website for there Xbox 360? I am asking as I am about to install an update from the U.S site but am unsure whether it will have any adverse affect on my 360.

Can anyone confirm if it's alright too do so.
