I have a 19" CRT at the mo and want to use the 360 on it, hopefully to get HD res!

Will the "vga boxes" available let me do this? Anyone used one?

Cheers

you just need to buy the VGA lead for the xbox360 mate, goes straight into your monitor without the need for a vga box

ebay is the place mate, search "vga xbox360"

but there are many different brand ones and fake mircosoft brands lol

i use a joytech brand one and its pretty good on my 17" TFT

The vast majority of these 'VGA Boxes' will simply accept a composite/S-video input, (non-HD), and upscale it to a resolution of 1024x768 or 1280x1024 or something like that.

Unless you're willing to spend a high amount of cash on one, a decent one, stay away. I have one that cost ~£40, and it pretty pants for gaming, though it was okay for watching movies on it.

You'll want a Xbox 360 VGA cable, and a proper VGA splitter box if you want to switch between Xbox 360 and PC.

Not true. Gameplay have VGA cables in stock now :P. They have had for a while.

Get a KVM aswell, you can just press a button and swap between PC and Xbox360.

my monitor is hardwired though at the back so no female connector and all the VGA cables ive seen are male!?

or I could just buy a gender changer!

The official Microsoft cables come with a gender changer, I think some non-official ones do too.
