Hi! I've been lurking here for almost a year now so I finally decided to create an account :D

Ok, recently I've been thinking about purchasing a HD LCD TV, possibly this one when it is available: CLICK

Now the thing is my 360 doesn't have HDMI, so I'll be using VGA instead. I thought about buying another 360 to upgrade to HDMI but I've done some research and it seems the difference between VGA and HDMI is negligible or non existant especially at the lower HD resolutions and on anything less than 50". But it also seems to depend on the TV itself, apparently some have poor VGA support and so HDMI is clearly superior in those cases.

So I guess I'm asking if any of you use VGA through Samsung LCD TV's, how does it look and have you had any experience of both VGA and HDTV on that screen, if so how do they compare? It seems unlikely but I just want to make sure I'm not purchasing a TV which has poor VGA support (I'm guessing it will be more or less the same throughout the majority of LCD TV's from the same manufacturer).

Thankyou in advance!

also debating if i should use vga, or get an hdmi to dvi cable (and put my pc into the vga slot instead of dvi on monitor) but afaik only "better" thing on hdmi is shadows look a tad better.

Traded in a few ps2 games and got a pre owned vga cable for 4.99 (meaning 6quid store credit, now i have to buy stuff -.-)

Most online places say if you want to upgrade just for hdmi, then dont :)

I used a VGA connection with my 360 and the picture quality looked amazing, very vibrant and clear. Now using an HDMI connection on my tele with the PS3 and i would say its not nearly as clear and vibrant, but the quality of the actual picture is still the same, if not a bit better colours wise.

Well yeah that's what confused me, apparently you can only select 720p, 1080i...etc through HDMI, so I'd be using 720p which is 1280 x 720, but the TV's native resolution is 1366 x 768, so I don't quite understand how it'd be superior image quality to VGA.

I can select all the resolutions with my hdmi-dvi cable with my Samsung 225BW.
