Hey guy's.

Its been a while since I've posted on here and I'm looking for some help with my situation.

I currently have a Girlfriend plugged into the 40" HDTV so I've opted to plug my Xbox One and Xbox 360 into my PC Monitor (ASUS MX279H). Now playing on the Xbox One is fine because the headset is plugged into the controller which relays both game sound & party chat, however I'm having a problem of finding a way to produce sound out of my Xbox 360.

Both consoles are plugged into the monitor via a HDMI splitter as my PC takes up the other HDMI slot. Now I've tried Google and all i find is people cracking open the component cable casing to plug both HDMI and Component cable in with various adapters.

Is there any other way to get Gaming Sound (Not too bothered about Party Chat) on a headset using the above?

I also can't deal with the input lag when playing my Xbox 360 through TV Mode on my Xbox One, So this isn't an option for me personally.

If your monitor has VGA + 3mm input Jack, I'd buy a third party VGA cable for the 360- ms did one so it is a proper cable type for the Xbox that the Xbox will recognise.from there you plug in headphones or PC speakers into the monitor.

The quality is not fantastic but then you're playing at 720p so it might not make a difference.

They do an optical adapted which allows you to use the hdmi out and have an optical audio out as well as L/R phono's. No idea if it's still available but worth a search...

It looks like this

Your monitor also has a headphone socket that should output audio from the HDMI connection.

^ What Moogleys said.

I had the same adaptor with my 360, if I remember correctly the socket for the adaptor above and the hdmi socket are very close together on the back of the console. However they both fit. Just.
