Hello people, if this isnt the right place to post this can a mod/admin please move it.

im thinking about water cooling my xbox, does anyone know some good/cheap parts i could use, what i should use etc, will be my first water cool.

It's your first attempt at watercooling, and you want to dive right in (pun intended) with a 360? I'd seriously advise watercooling a PC first... it's a lot easier and you'll learn what you need to do with standardized parts before having to mod the hell out of all the kit to get it into a 360.

hey i understand where you are coming from but i got this xbox and guitar and some games for £40, its had some rrod issues, ive repasted the heat sinks, but wanted to water cool, or mod it with some bigger/better heat sinks, im not sure what is possible as the gpu/cpu looked a lot smaller than standard pc ones?

and didnt want to rick my pc getting wet, dual core amd, 8800gt etc not the best, but would be a waste, see what i mean?

you'd be best off following refluxes advice, water cooling a pc is hard, so a 360, would be a nightmare, are you planning on doing it in a PC case? or the standard 360 case with an external reservoir/pump?

I highly advise against starting WCing by using a 360. If you want a cooler 360, cut a 120mm hole in the roof and add a fan (recommending Delta's if you don't mind some noise :p)

yes lol ive read into a few things, i see some people use a big plate over the cpu and gpu and others use a small one on each, maybe if it could be air cooled, cheap but still looks good i suppose it could be an options, but i guess im still going to need some better heat sinks?

IMO, better cooling for the 360 could be achieved with just a couple of Fans on the Heatsinks and some decent TIM applied, arctic MX3 for instance ;)

you can buy a xbox 360 waterblock made by xspc for £35. Watercooling an xbox 360 is easy the tricky bit is fitting it all inside the case unless you go external in which case look at the swiftech drive radiators which incorporate a res, pump and rad all in one.

quite exspensive for a case, my plan was to make it run colder, then sell it and get the new xbox :p just thought water cooling would give me a decent project too. if i customed the case, but a 80mm fan over the cpu with a hole in the case, would this make much difference?

Theres a great build log on xs with that exact case :)

Looks no harder than a normal loop to me.

It's just a single block loop in a purpose built case, no need for any modding just undo some screws and transfer the 360 gubbins. a lot simpler than most pc water loops.
