Im starting to get angry that most big games nowadays focus alsmost entirely on multiplayer. Halo 3 for example has an average-good 6-10 hour single player, but amazing multiplayer, Imo single player is still more important. I understand that there are good single player games on the 360, Condemend, bioshock, oblivion, mass effect (soon) and a couple of others, but there dont seem to be any 'big' releases (like halo 3 scale) coming in the next few months of single player focused games. The only ones i can think off in the near future are mass effect and GTA, and thats it.

So who else is tired of most games now having very very short and crappy single players but amazing multiplayer? Cant they do both?

Disc space ;)

Most games i've played lately have had better SP than multi. Bioshock, the Darkness. R6 is big in both areas SP and Multi.

PGR will be a big SP game as well as MP. COD4 could have a decent SP game, as could Brothers in Arms.

Personally I think its about even, Halo and Graw2 are probably the only games I've seen over the last year that seem to have leaned heavily on MP forgetting the SP.

Rainbow six, i was thinking about picking that up, is that really a good single player game aswell? Most of the clancy games seem to be multiplayer focused.

Hello?

Mass Effect is Game of the Year and it has no online. Also Half Life 2 trilogy is coming next month. Stranglehold is a single player game as well.

No, sorry. I am almost exclusively a multi player kind of guy. Other than Football Manager I simply don't touch the single player side of any game and if it requires me to play through single player, to upgrade equipment so I can compete on-line then it gathers dust and is usually never touched again.

Down with single player.

christ how can you not be happy? halo 3 although short is very very sweet and is very replayable. Bioshock is superb, The Darkness was superb, Mass Effect will undoubtedly be superb, Skate is superb, Fable 2 is looking very nice, Half Life 2 is superb, how many big titles do you want?

ok ok, so there does seem to be a lot of single player games i forgot about, but still for halo 3 i wish they put a little bit more time into the single player.

its short but its consistantly exciting, id rather have 8-10 hours of constant excitement that i can replay many times on my own or with friends than a longer game that has dull points. Each mission is very different both visually and in gameplay.

The best single player game on the xbox360. Realistic setting is as big a challenge as i've ever seen on the 360 so far.

Personally, I think H3 has done a great job on both. What about CoD2, that was great at both, CoD4 could be the same. Both GRAW's as well as GoW. Plenty. R6:Vegas had a fairly good SP campaign. Also, lets not forget Orange Box. One of the best SP games ever with one of the highest rated MP games.

Games can have both but it is litterally like making two games, there is a reason why many focus on one or the other. Esp. since not all genres can mix the two easily.

When the 360 game out it offered some GREAT single player games. Even those that offered MP (PGR3, PD0, Burnout) still offered great, enjoyable and lastability to single player games.

But the predominant single player ones of late (Darkness, Bioshock, Gears of War) to name a few I've been really really disappointed.

The last game that had me playing on the 360 day after day after day was Just Cause. I'm having more fun playing the Arcade Live games lately.
