Xbox 360 - Which DVD drive you got?

Which DVD drive does your 360 have. Just asking out of curiosity.

The old drive is a hitachi drive with two small holes in the disc tray.

THe newer drives are Samsung and dont have any holes. They are also much quiter than the hitachi's

Mine was manufacturered end of December and has the Samsung Drive :cool:

I have the Samsung drive based on your infor mate. If this one is supposed to be quiet I dread to think what the old one sounded like :eek:

I dont understand what you mean by holes, because the one in the picture has one hole?

I still had a disc read error with it but only once after live updated the other night.

Older one has a couple of small round holes in the tray (not the great big one!)

Mine was bought on release so its the Hitachi.

No idea what that is, but all me mates agree that that drive is the quietest out of all our 360's and I'd agree. Upon spinup its noisy, but then it vanishes...

Thats the hitachi and is noisier than the samsung.

Hitachi here aswell......My 5.1 up to volume 15 soon drowns it out mind......Plus the yells of STFU from the neighbour downstairs.....So it's a win/win situation :cool:

I have the Samsung drive.

To me it's still pretty loud. Wonder what the Hitachi sounds like :eek:
