At the moment I would like to get a good racing game, perhaps PGR3?

Shelling out on a 360 and PGR3 is a fair chunk of money and a lot for just one game.

What else does the 360 have to offer that my PC doesn't?

Thanks,

Chris

You stick the game in and it plays.. straight away..

You dont need to upgrade your graphics card every 6 months and you get fantastic bang for buck from the 360 in terms of graphics.

Look at the coming games for the 360.. and weve got Halo 3 to look forward to.

And then theres xbox live...

And wireless controllers.. whats that.. dont want to get up to turn your 360 on in the morning.. dont want to get up to turn it off.. dont need to! just do it with the controller!

I don't regularly upgrade my GFX card and Halo3 is coming to PC.

I am not trying to find reasons to not buy a 360 but just trying to justify one.

The OcUK PGR3 multi player does sound fun with the headsets etc...

Have to agree, look at Gears Of War, yes thats on a £210-£280 console, how much do you think you'll have to spend on your PC to get games looking like that, and running at about 60fps all the time. :)

That game doesn't even scratch the surface of what the 360 can do, had mine about 6 weeks now, and its bloody awesome, Condemned, another cracking game, looks like Fear, and runs great, had to spend £350 just on a graphics card to get Fear to run on my PC well, and the 360's just £210-£280 as said. :D

We dont know Halo 3 will be on PC for definite. We are guaranteed it on xbox 360 sooner than the PC version. We are guaranteed it will work on xbox 360. Your pc is going to require new components to get it running as well.. costing you several hundreds of pounds.

PES will coming out at the end of the year i think, tbh you're better off waiting the current line-up is nothing special.

1. No need to spend half a day tweaking the game just so it runs optimally
2. Enjoy online pc gaming not knowing weather your opponent killed you geniunely or with an exploit? Live keeps everyone on a level basis.
3. Keeps your room nice and warm
4. The ability to play old school arcade games on live (streetfighter 2 on the way as well as many classics)
5. The Live community out there is immense, I've made so many friends out there already and can pm them or talk to them any time, even inside a game.
6. Halo 3 is definately coming out for the 360, yet Halo 2 is coming out for Vista...
7. Great, no comprimised visuals.
8. I've got a thing for kameo's sister.

Depends how good his PC is now. I'm pretty sure my PC could manage that. Also if you don't have an HDTV that's another £600-£700 to get a decent resolution at a decent screen size.

The whole "Xbox 360 is cheaper" argument is flawed because it goes under assumptions of what you already own.

Personally I don't think there's any point in buying a 360 unless there are games you really want for it. For me there are no 360 exclusive games that can justify me buying one.

I was one of the ones saying to get the 360 to look good you need a HDTV which is another £500+, but now ive got one i was totally wrong, running it on my 28" Sony Trinitron Wide normal Tv here with the advanced SCART, and the picture is bloody fantastic, you certainly dont need a HDTV thats for sure, my PC could probably handle GOW too, but then again i paid £350 just for my graphics card, then theres x amount on CPU/Motherboard, all adds up, yet the 360 is only £210-280, so if his PC already could cope with GOW then thats not the point, as he probably would have spent way more than the price of a 360 to get it like that. :)

I was getting a big HDTV whether I got a 360 or not.
The thing I like about the 360 is the way it all just works together on Live!.
I also like the fact that we're all on the same hardware and controllers, there are no unfair advantages. Getting an online game is easy. THe headsets etc just work, everything just does what you need it to do and everything just flows.

Of course it has a downside. I have a 360 and a gorgeous 50" TV but I have to share my living room with the wife and kid. They don't like being kicked upstairs to watch TV whilst I play. I feel a garage conversion coming on and a nice big projector.

Tbh if PGR3 is the only game that interests you atm on 360 I would say don't bother, I'd wait until there are more games that interest you, don't get me wrong I love my 360 and its given me hours and hours of enjoyment but I wouldnt have bothered shelling out £280 to play just one game.

PGR 3 probably isnt even worth the 50 quid asking price let alone 320. I'd rather give them a 3/4 printed 50 quid note since they gave us a 3/4 game
Personally if you are debating about getting it, i would wait about 6 months. By then the PS3 might be out, might have caused the 360 to come down in price and there will be a lot more titles out and possibly (although i doubt it) more games that are backwards compatible.
This month if you dont have a PC that will play it, you can play GR:AW and Oblivion and Fight night all on the 360. A;though the 260 verion of the godfather is later 4 some reason :(

Its not flawed - the X360 has a 5 year lifespan. If you didn't upgrade a top-end PC for 5 years...

The 360 also makes you more attractive to women but less attractive to your wife.
