Xbox 360 Windows Controller Help!

Guys can any of you help me solve this problem im having with my xbox pad,

i have had the pad for about a year or so althou its been used just a handful of times, i picked up sf4 about a week ago so got the pad out plugged it in etc everything is good up until about 30 secs into a fight then the pad loses connection ? :confused:

It does this every single time the latest drivers are installed, seems to work normal with others games just not sf4?

pc spec is , e6600 @ 3.40 , 4 gig ram , gtx 260 , vista 64 up 2 date.

Is it wireless? If so, does it need new batteries?

I had one with a dodgy cable.. had to return it. Try wiggling the cable and seeing if it flashes on and off
