xbox 360 wireless adaptor

My brother wants a wireless adaptor for his 360 for xmas but being the poor student that i am, i cant afford it.

His xbox is upstairs and our existing wireless router is downstairs.
Would it be possible to get another wireless router upstairs and plug his xbox into it via ethernet cable then link the 2 wireless routers together?

the wireless routers have to be connected by cable, they cant wirelessly (is that a word???) connect with each other

They could be connected wirelessly, but the router that was attached to the 360 would need to work as a wireless client.

Could you not just get a ethernet bridge? to the 360 it would be like a fixed cable.

Just wire the 360 to it and wireless from the bridge to the router.

Their about the same price as the Xbox360 one!!..
