Xbox 360 wireless?

I've just bought a 360 and have been looking at getting it online. Will a USB wireless adapter work instead of getting a specific 360 adapter cos the 360 one is 3 times the cost!! :cool:

Sorry to tag on but...

...how good is the wireless dongle?

My router is in the attic, and the TV is on the ground floor (2 story house) will it pick up a signal well and work well?

The PS3 and laptops do, but I've heard bad things about the 360 wireless.

It has to be the official adapter if you want a USB solution. Otherwise any Wireless Access Point would do to turn the wired ethernet port into a wireless one.

EDIT - The wireless adapter is as good as any other.
