Xbox 360 wont read disks

Hi guys my xbox 360 cant read disks i have tried with all of my games (about 7) and some will load to the start up of the game like a menu then it will say that it cant read the disk. i have no idea what it is but i have been told it might be something to do with the lazer and a lense cleaner might help. does this sound like a good idea?

I don't think that lens cleaning can harm it. Also if you have your XBOX on it's side try standing it up or vice versa.

i have tried standing it up and putting it on its side. i dont know whats wrong. is it true that all electrical products in the UK come with a year warranty? if so i will take it back as i bought it at the start of this year

It's the laser. Easy and cheap enough to install a new one, but if it's less than a year old it's still under warranty anyway.

In that case, yes take it back. Don't let them fob you off with returning it to MS - you have a contract of sale with the shop, although they might say that they can getit repaired for you, stick to your guns and ask for a swap.

ok i took it back and got a new one the guy was like ohh we can send it off to Microsoft so i said no thanks i want a replacement thanks guys
