It is recomended, but by no means a necessity. It still looks sweet in SD.

HDTV is definately NOT a necessary purchase. It's nice, but SDTV still looks fantastic especially with an RGB scart cable.

I stream from my PC upstairs to the 360 downstairs over 56Mb wireless and sometimes I get network congestion so I suggest 100Mb wired connection.

You'll also need Windows Media Center edition if you want to stream video.

Are you sure?
I use Windows Media Connect which was free and I can watch videos that are on my PC. Or am I missing something?

Like ScarySquirrel says this isnt the case any more. With the recent dash update and Media Player 11 you can use TVersity to stream most video without media center. Works great.

another thing i have got the wirelless controllers do i need to buy a battery pack that i can recharge ?or can i use my own AA batterys>?

Sorry to hijack this thread but saves posting another one for a question that has probably already been answered and probably so simple that I really should not be asking it.

I am considering buying a 360 and want to know if it is already wireless enabled (to play online) out of the box or do I need to buy the adaptor?

Pretty sure I'd need to buy the adaptor but just checking, thanks.
