Hi,

I've been trying to get my Xbox back online but not having much luck. When I run the connection test I get internet connection failed. I'm wired. Tested the connection with my media pc and it works fine. My main pc and iPad connect fine and have done so since day dot. I just thought I would have a blast on the 360 but don't seem to be having much luck. I've added one month gold online via my pc, thinking this might be the issue.

I have a Tp link N600 adsl router. I have added the ports but never had to do this on other routers for my xbox.

Any ideas? Maybe ring my ISP but then I get a internet connection on other kit.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I followed MS troubleshooting guide online. If I set my phone up as a wireless hot spot it will connect fine. It has to be either my router or ISP.

Strange tho because I've got my laptop connecting over wireless and my main pc connecting over cat5 and both are working fine.

I get the same issue over Wi-Fi tho. If I run the diagnostic tool on my router to test surfing the net I get a fail on DNS Root. Although I can browse the net fine from other devices. No idea if that's a issue or not?

Resolved - I swapped my router back to a old net gear and it worked first time. Swapped back to my TP Link N600 And still had the issue. Called ISP for DNS settings which I could have got from my router...not sure why I thought these were different. Manually entered the DNS settings on my XBox and it now connects. Never had to put manual network settings in to get a Internet connection from my Xbox before....any ways thanks for the help fellow OcUk members.
