Anyone else tried setting their kids up profiles? What I was hoping to have was my main live account then a local account for each child with no online and age restrictions on games. Thought this could all be done by face recognition. Is this even possible?

I tried add family member function, signed in myself then when I finished the process it was as if nothing happened. I then tried to create an account for one of the kids, do I really need to create each child an online account? I couldn't even select new email address though. The whole process is not very well explained.

Shouldn't need to create a proper account, local accounts by default don't have online access except maybe YouTube etc as you need a gold live account for online multiplayer etc, don't know how it would work with age restrictions. And for login, may just be a case of taking off automatic login, not sure if you can get Xbox to login via facial recognition, I know you can in games but not sure about the homeacreen itself.

Ive got my whole family set up.

Its a little convoluted as you need email addresses and gamertags for them all. You need to enable let Kinect sign them in as well then have them raise their hand to make the connection.

Its cool to have it sign everyone in as they come in the lounge.

Did you create the accounts through the xbox? When they have their own accounts does it mean they have their own game saves etc?

You can create the account through the xbox but I did it at outlook.com on the PC just for the convenience of keyboard.

In effect you sign them up with a Microsoft account (outlook.com etc) and then add them to the xbox as a normal account, create a gamertag, Avatar etc. You can then add that account to your family and choose settings for them. If you add them as children they cannot use video etc, if they want to add a friend you have to sign in an authorise it, web can be used limited either via a built in list (i.e. child friendly sites only) or you add your own whitelist of sites they can access etc.

You can choose a pre set up set of settings "child", "teenager" etc of manually set what you want to allow or block yourself. Just like a normal account when they move in front of Kinect it will spot and identify them and they can switch to their dashboard, settings and save games etc by saying "Xbox, show my stuff" whilst Kinect can see them.

You get an email account with the MS account but just forward that to your email so you get any reset messages etc so they never have to use it. Choose the email addy carefully and then once they are older you can hand it over to them.

Got it all setup earlier. Bizarrely when I was navigating round the menu as me it logged me in as one of my sons. I want to set forza under my profile as if it's never been used so I can do all the races at the start, is that possible?
